Little Passports REVIEW

I have received a Little Passports World Edition  for review purposes and let me tell you I really like it so before you ask yourself what is Little Passports let me give you a brief description:

Little Passports is a subscription box service for kids 5-12, there is two type of boxes the "World Edition" and the "USA Edition", as you may understand by the names, each box will introduce your child to learn and explore in a fun way the USA and the WORLD. The cost starts at $10.95 and up, of course you will choose the type of payment (Monthly, 3 months, 6 months or a year).

So lets check Little passports "World Edition"

Little Passports has two main characters that will guide your child to discover the world, Sam and Sofia, and they will send you the "Explorer kit" with a letter from Sam y Sofia with everything included so your child can get started in this world adventure. Each month our friends Sam and Sofia will guide your child into a different country, this is a nice way to learn about other countries.

Our friends Sam and Sofia

I hope you can't read what is included on the letter, so you get surprised when you received your kit

This is the "Explorer kit"

The Explorer kit is a nice suitcase so you can storage all your activities while you travel around the world with "Sam and Sofia" and includes a Passport, stickers, a map, a activity page, access to online games, and much more

First look at what is included

This passport will help your child to travel around the world

A map to guide your child around the world

My daughter is 4 years old and she just finished preschool, but with my help she was able to do the activities, not because she is my girl but she is very smart and recognize the letters pretty well, she did a good job.

My 4 year old doing the activities

She did a good job

She paid attention to the instructions

You can see that she just learned how to write, but she did it nice

So far so good we spent a good quality time together learning about the different ways to say "hello" around the world, and other fun activities, but I don't want to give you all the info because it would be nice that you and your child(s) find about it. If you want to learn more or want to subscribe your child to this adventure you can do it by clicking in HERE.

*DISCLOSURE: This box was send it to me by the nice people of little passports for review purposes but all the opinions are all my own. This post contains an affiliate link.

Cotton Booty June 2013 REVIEW

I know we are almost on the middle of July and July Cotton booty box is almost here, but because we moved from our house (that got sold), my Cotton Booty box was waiting at the postal office and just received on Friday (thankfully). This month I already new what to expect, because I've seen many reviews, and I'm really happy that finally I got it.

So what is Cotton Booty? In case you didn't know.

Cotton Booty is a subscription service that delivers cloth diapers essentials (one brand cloth diaper, sample(s) and a fun item) for $24.99 per month, you can choose if you want a girl, boy or neutral box. According to their website you will be billed on the 15th of every month. You can sing up HERE

This month we received a mailer instead of a box

I selected to receive a "boy" box, but I'm seriously thinking in changing it into a "neutral" box because my husband and I want to have more kids, so maybe later. In case you don't know Cotton Booty has a theme each month, so the theme for June was "Take this box and Stuff it", the items for this month are the following:

All the items included

Information Card
Of course as always they include a very well detailed information card, love how they explain the products each month

Bumkins One Size Stuff it Cloth diaper: The price for this diaper is $15.95
Bumkins- "Fire engine" Print.
This diaper is a pocket system and included a minky insert and a waterproof PUL backed insert (also minky), sounds cool right, I think that you can have more security that no blowouts will happen. The print that they send for boys was Fire engine, and I really like it, I've seen the print for neutral boxes and I think I like this print the most. This month the diaper also came in snaps closures, which I like, but I don't mind if they send "aplix" someday. I can't wait to get it prepped and ready to use it on my boy.
Bumkins- "Fire engine" Print.

Milky! 2.5 oz: This is a sample, so I could not find a price for this.
Milky! 2.5 oz Sample
I've heard of milky before on the Style Network reality show Tia and Tamera, you know the girls from "Sister, Sister", they created Milky which is an all natural herbal supplement that promotes lactation. The flavor that I got was strawberry. This is a yay! for me because my little guy is a "chichinator" (some people use the word "chi-chi" or chichis" in spanish for boobies in Mexico, and because my husband and I speak both English and Spanish, he nicknamed our son "The chichinator" or if you want it in English it would be "The Bobbienator" haha I know oops) because he is an Exclusive breastfeeding baby, so sometimes my milk supply is very low and I need to consume as much liquid as I can, even warm oatmeal with milk, so my little guy wont be like a desperate hungry baby, I know its just a sample and I will not see a true result due to what Tia and Tamera recommend, which is two bottles a day, but anyways I'm happy I received this so I can give it a try and if I see a result I will let you know and of course I will use the coupon that I got in this box and buy more milky!. By the way my almost 4 month old is 19.8 pounds thanks to breastmilk.

Bumkins Wet bag: The price $10.95
Bumkins Wet bag "Yellow fish" Print.
When I knew that Cotton Booty will have a wetbag this month I almost went crazy of happiness, you may read and know that I'm just starting to cloth diaper my son and one of the must have for all cloth diapering mamas is a wetbag, so before this I was looking for one and when I learned about a wetbag coming on this Cotton Booty box I stopped that search, because that's the purpose of this subscription to discover new brands (for rookies like me mostly). I'm really pleased with this wetbag, I'm not a fan of Doctor Seuss but I really like this print "Yellow fish". So ready to give it a try.

I love Cotton Booty because you get more that what you pay for, the overall value of this month is like $26 so that is good because you pay $24.95 and shipping is included on the price, and you get to know new brands and products, without searching like crazy. So I can't wait to get my July box, because I know it would be as awesome as the previous month.

If you are interesting to order a Cotton Booty box and want to save $5 off you can use my referral link HERE

Why I'm choosing cloth diapers?

I remember when I had my first born 4 years ago, my beautiful daughter, I was an inexperienced 19 year old, I knew so little about babies, just that they need love, diapers and food, I decided to breastfeed because  I knew breast milk is the best thing for babies, I respect those who decide to feed with formula; I knew almost nothing about all these chemicals around our babies (diapers, toys, and other products.)

I learned about LEAD unfortunately when my daughter, was 1 years old, she got LEAD in her blood, I cried and cried because I knew I was doing something wrong, I was poisoning my daughter without even noticing just because I was using something that I didn't knew could be dangerous, thankfully months later her LEAD levels where down and now she is ok.

I realize that not every toy, diapers or products in the market are exclusively safe for babies, even some foods,  I became more aware on what things to buy, especially if they are made in China, I mean you can still buy something from China but you have to be aware that it has been responsibly made.

When I got pregnant with my second child, June of last year, I started doing more research about the use of dangerous chemicals on baby products and I found about that not all disposable diapers are safe for our little ones. I know I used disposable diapers, my husband used them and my daughter too, and lots of people still use them, heck I even still use some on my baby boy, but in that little research that I did I found the benefits of cloth diapers, they are not only good on your baby bottoms, and for our planet, they are good for your wallet too.

So I have been discussing with my husband about cloth diapers ( I even drive him crazy just talking about diapers) and He supported my decision to try cloth diapers on our son, thank you honey. So I started doing some research on blogs, a BIG thank you to those bloggers that share all their knowledge and experiences about cloth diapers, all this information makes me feel overwhelmed but I know I will learn step by step.
I still don't know exactly what kind of diaper I want the most, but I found this subscription box that delivers cloth diapers and essentials every month, Cotton booty, you can read my review Here, so far thanks to their first box I got my first AIO diaper or better said, my first cloth diaper ever (Bumgenius AIO One size diaper), I'm just waiting on their second box this month -June- to see what kind of diaper they will send and start building my stash and of course start seeing what kind of diaper I want for my son, there are a lots of types, and there is also different type of fabric to choose from, like I said I'm overwhelmed, but if they can do it I can do it too.

My first cloth diaper: Bumgenius AIO one size

Until now I still have doubts about if it is the right choice for me and my family but I don't want to give up without even trying it, I know nothing at the beginning is easy, my journey through the cloth diaper world its just starting with many bumps, especially my lack of knowledge, I'm not going to have a washing machine in my house anymore (I'm moving into an apartment), there are so many brands out there even the WAHM brands (I'm learning the lingo :P) to choose from, how many diapers do I need?, whats the best detergent?, hard water problems? uff so many things!, but like I said I don't want to give up.

For now I will use my cloth diapers PART TIME on my son until I feel secure enough to do it full time.
I'm choosing Cloth diapers because it can help us save money, they are good for our planet and because they are more cute than disposables hahaha

I will update my journey in this blog

What are you thoughts about cloth diapers? Do you use cloth diapers? What is your favorite brand and why? Any tips and advise is more than welcome.

God bless you

Bluum May 2013 Review: Happy and healthy

Bluum is a monthly subscription service that delivers the best full size products available for babies and toddlers. The boxes are tailored according to your baby age, developmental stages and milestones. There is a different theme each month. The price is $24.95 per month. You can cancel anytime.

I subscribed to bluum after an amazing deal at Plum District. I received my shipping notification on May 21st and got my box on May 23rd, the box was for my two month old boy so the theme we received was "Happy and Healthy", so lets get started:

http://mamitastories.blogspot.com/
Bluum box
The items I received on my bluum box "Happy and Healthy" were:

mamitastories.blogspot.com
THE ITEMS
  • Kellytoy baby travel pillow
  • Wellements Organic gripe water
  • RazBaby pacifier
  • Slick sugar milestones belly banters 15 ct.
  • Dreambaby bath tub thermometer
  • Burt's Bees lip shimmer
  • Coupons: Razbaby and Wellements

I'm going to give my opinions of my items and their value is according to Amazon.

mamitastories.blogspot.com
Kellytoy Travel pillow
Kellytoy Baby travel Pillow: I couldn't find the exact price for this specific item on amazon, but I found one similar to this between $10 to $15. I really like this item,  I think this was one of my favorites, I was looking forward to buy one of these (not this one) for my daughter, but thankfully it arrived on my bluum box; the design as you can see is super cute I just hope this design would be useful because the elephant head is a little bigger (in my opinion), I haven't tried it on my boy due to my carseat being very comfortable and secure for my him, so I will wait until he is a little older.

Wellements organic gripe water
Wellements Gripe water 4 oz: The price for this item is $6.99.
This gripe water is certified organic product which I think is great. I received a gripe water on my citrus lane for my 2 month old, the only difference is that this one is organic. I know many babies suffer from colics, my son is one of those babies especially if I consume dairy (he is a breastfed boy!) so I definitely will be using this gripe water in case I forget to not consume dairy (yes sometimes I forget) and because his doctor wants me to get some calcium, and if he gets some colics due to other things. This one again is a good item.

RazBaby Pacifier
RazBaby Pacifier: The price is $4.49
I received this Keep-it-kleen pacifier in a cute clown fish design, I personally don't like pacifiers, my daughter never used one and only once I tried to make her use one just because I got one as a gift but she never liked it so I never tried it again and I'm not going to try it with my boy; what I like about this pacifier is that if it falls down on the floor it closes by itself so that way it will stay clean. I will pass this item as a gift. Not a useful item (for me)

Slick Sugar Belly banters
Slick sugar milestones belly banters 15 ct: The price $14.99
I personally would not buy this item at that price, but I think it is cute that you can have these stickers to track that especial moment that your baby reaches. I don't like it that much and exactly don't know how this can fit on our theme "happy and healthy" but who knows. What do you think about this item?

Dreambaby bath tub thermometer: The price $13.99
I have two opinions about this item one is that is necessary and other is that is not to necessary, I know I'm sorry if you feel confused but I think we as mothers take care of our babies so that we would not allow them to be exposed by  hot water when bathing without the need to use a thermometer, right? I mean I have been bathing my son without one until I received this, but like I said I have mixed feelings about this item and this one matches my theme. So this item for me is good, but not that much. What do you think?

Burt's Bees lip shimmer 0.09 oz: The price $5 (According to their website)
This lip shimmer is a gift for mom, thank you bluum; I really like the shade they sent me, Rhubarb, and I like that this is all natural lipstick.

If you make the math the total value of my bluum box is more than the cost $24.95, so that is a good feeling.
If you want to start receiving bluum boxes just click HERE and as always I'm not going to lie I will get a free box if you do it (TIA)

Do you received bluum? What theme did you get?

God bless you

ONE FREE MONTH AT ABC MOUSE

I just subscribed my 4 year old daughter to ABCmouse because it was a free for 1 month ( I love free), and because she has been watching the ads everyday when its TV time for her and she was asking me, almost all day, if she can go to play at ABCmouse, so I finally accepted and went over to ABC mouse and found out that I can have my first month for free! and guess what? you can have a free month too if you click HERE, if you do it I will get one more month free.

What is ABCmouse?

Its a online educational website for toddlers and kids in preschool to kindergarten, that teaches reading, math, basic science, basic social studies, art and music in a attractive and fun way; its like your own school curriculum at home. They accept up to 3 kids in one account. The subscription service fee is $7.95 a month. Best of all you don't have to worry for not age appropriate ads and pop-ups (they don't have that stuff)

What are my thoughts?

Until now I think ABCmouse is great for my 4 year old and now more than ever because she just finished preschool and she is very active and with a nursing baby at home I need to find ways to maintain her occupied in a healthy and  fun way and in this website she can play and learn at the same time. The website is very kid friendly, you don't need to have a tech baby to use this website.

What do you think about ABCmouse?

God bless you

A VERY BUSY WEEK

Hello there I'm really sorry that i haven't been able to post at all this past week, it has really been a very busy week for me, my house is on sale and I need to maintain it clean all day, and that means to keep my daughter busy doing other things instead of her playing with her toys at her room and making a mess, because each day people would come to see our house, thankfully someone put an offer on it, just a couple of days ago, yay! and we are expecting to make the sale at the end of this month and that means moving, I have been busy with that too, wow in all these 3 years living here we have been accumulating a lot of things and when I say a lot I really mean ALOT!

To put things worse for me to be able to post something my husband has been very busy with his homework, this is his senior year so he just came from work to eat dinner and then started making homework and to put things more worse thanks to me our laptop is broken, I know what a dummy, so the only computer available is our desktop one, well my husbands desktop because like I said he does homework all night.

But thankfully everything is coming to normal, I hope, so expect reviews for my May bluum, citrus lane and cotton booty.

God bless you

Graze Review

Graze is a new subscription box service that delivers healthy snacks for just $5, it could be weekly, every 2 weeks o every 4 weeks, nice, right? They offer two different kind of boxes the nibblebox and the lightbox (the low calories one) I choose the nibblebox.

*I received my first box on the first week of May, but I didn't have this blog yet so the box I'm going to review today is my second box, here we go:

Like I said Graze only charges $5 per box, they charged me on May 18 and I received my box on May 25, they prepare the box according to your taste preference, once you get your box you can review it, if you don't like a certain snack you received you can mark it as a "trash" item and they are never going to send you that snack.

Graze box

My snacks
As you can see in the picture above they send you 4 different flavors, the portions are prepared to satisfy your hunger in a healthy way.

The snacks I received:

Born in the USA
Born in the USA: This snack is a blend of pecans, cranberries and almonds, I personally love pecans and almonds, the cranberries are sweet so this was for me one of my favorite ones so far, I rate it "Love" so that way they send me this snack more often

Cheddar gorge
Cheddar gorge: This snack is a blend of cheese flavored cashews, salsa corn sticks and herb crackers, well I'm not a fan of cashews but this ones taste so yummy (I love cheese) they were so crunchy aka fresh; the salsa corn sticks were crunchy and very well flavored, I like that they weren't to blended but also I would like it to be spicy, its just my taste; the herb crackers how do I start, it is ok if I just say YUMMY! because they were my favorite. One more time I rated it "LOVE"

fruit and seed flapjack
Fruit and seed flapjack: This flapjack was ok (for me) the sweetness was perfect,  I don't know how to describe the flavor, because I just took a bite and gave it to my husband, and he liked it right away. I rate it "Like" that way they would send it to me once in a while.

Pina Colada
Pina Colada: Its a blend of dried pineapple, mango and coconut flakes, I LOVE this one, the pineapple was so sweet sweet, it makes me want to eat a whole pineapple just to think about it, the mango was ok, the coconut flakes taste like you know coconut, but the highlight was the pineapple. I rate it "LOVE"

Like I said Graze is very new in this market and for that reason you need a invite code to join in, in case you don't have one you can join the waiting list, or you can do it like me, I was chasing a code until I got one and of course I gave out my code to another fellow chaser.

*Fun story: I received this box on Saturday and we were going on a 45 min road trip, I take the pictures fast before we were leaving our house, this box came in handy because I was a little hungry because I didn't have time to eat and prepare lunch for the road because we were on a hurry, so I ate it all almost by myself I only shared the flapjack with my husband and that was just because I don't like that one that much haha.

What do you think about graze?

God bless you

Babbabox Review: May 2013

Hi there this is my first box review of my very first Babbabox so here we go.

Babbabox is a monthly box from babbaco with activities for kids 3 to 7, they include all the material you  may need. Every month its a different theme, they have three different type of boxes the digital membership from $6.99, the babbabox from $15.99 and the premium babbabox from $29.99.

I choose the babbabox and recieved the shipping information on may 17 and got it on may 20, the theme was "Kitchen Science", it arrived in a bubble mailer, I didn't know about this until I left a comment on their facebook wall and they told me that the babbabox would arrive in a bubble mailer and the babbabox premium in a box, I was a little disappointed about that, but once I opened the items and started doing some of the science, it was definitely a keeper.

Babbabox arrived on a bubble mailer

Babbabox
The contents (Instructions no pictured)

As you can see the package was in neat condition, very well maintained on the bubble mailer.

The theme this month was "Kitchen Science" they sent the necessarry materials and instructions to make a volcano, a lava lamp, magic mud and a bouncy ball. They also include some star stickers so you can put it onto each activity as you do it. They recommend you to ask questions to your child to encourage critical thinking while doing the experiments.
The instructions are very well detailed

 The materials included were:
  • Googles
  • Test tubes
  • 2 packages of corn starch
  • food coloring
  • multipurpose glue
  • Sodium tetraborate (borax)
  • eyedropper

Information card

 Two side instruction cards

Instructions for the volcano
Magic mud Instructions

Lava lamp Instructions

We love our babbabox, the first experiment we did was the lava lamp and we have much fun doing this, my husband love this concept and of course my daughter too, she thought she was a real scientist. Due to my husband's homework and work and because I didn't have baking soda, we weren't able to do the volcano, but its one of the many things that we will do this weekend and we are expecting our June box to be as much fun and educating as this was, this box don't have a monetary value instead it has the family value because you can spent quality time with your kids.

If you like this box and want to try it for your family you can save $10 your first box by using my link Here and I'm not going to lie I will receive a credit if you do so.

And for limited time only you can get the digital summer survival guide trial for free if you click Here
